Choose your campsite area on arrival at Ross River. Campground selection is first in first served. All sites are pet friendly.
Campground 1 – Self contained
Location, Location Location! A short stroll past the cabins and you’re at the Homestead where you can enjoy a cuppa or a meal, the Homestead is the location for our meet and greet and several activities depart from there. With an uninterrupted view of a million stars the evenings are magical, you will know you are in the outback. This campground is for self contained travellers there are no facilities in this section. However the sites are spacious and flat. Generators are permitted in this area.
Campground 2 – Generator Area
Also a short walk from the homestead this area is for those with a generator. A smaller spot then campground 1 also with no facilities, so you will need to be self contained. If you have a generator this is the spot for you. Alternatively if you’re a heavy sleeper and don’t mind the hum of the Ross River Geni then this is a lovely grassed area that has some lovely red rock ranges as your backdrop… and a lovely vista outlook to the front.
Campground 3 – Main Campground Area
This is the big campground surrounded by small trees and mountain ranges. This area has toilets and showers. As with the other campgrounds there are no powered sites. A Lot of activities including our dinner under the stars are held in this space, there is a large activities room which we put to good use during the week. Please note this campground is approximately 400m from the homestead. It is an outback stroll through the dry river bed and if you’re lucky you will see wild brumbies on your walk to the homestead another reminder you’re in the outback!
*Vehicle movement will be limited during the week (due to the dry dusty conditions, making it more comfortable for everyone) During the event there will be a small courtesy bus doing return trips from the homestead to campground 3 for those with mobility issues.
Your campsite booking includes
